Make It or Break It February is bound to have some goals that coincide so I figured I’d start this off with my only hand-in-hand goals. I want to break my procrastination habit and start doing a little bit of homework everyday.
I haven’t ever had a huge problem with procrastination but it is enough of something to try changing. My biggest qualm with procrastinating comes when I have a huge project coming up but no motivation to do it. I was burned once last semester from this but not this semester.
Doing a little bit of homework every day is a little bit of a stepping stone to stopping procrastination but it is also something my mother has been trying to get me to do for as long as I can remember. Doing something every day will keep me immersed in the work/knowledge so my grades will turn out better. If I don’t have homework, I can still study or do other work.
Where any problems might occur with this goal is where my lack of motivation stops me from doing daily homework and thus procrastinating on big projects.
Yesterday was the last day to add any goals to my list of habits to make or break. I could think of none so I am sticking with the five I started with. My progress with some are going really great while others will probably never fully get off the ground.
The failure of the bunch is the one where I said about no longer biting my nails. This is no longer a bad habit for me; I fear it may be a way of life. For as long as I can remember, I have been biting my nails so this won’t be easy.
The easiest it seems on the group is drinking one glass of green tea a day. It sounds like a weird habit to make but once I do my post dedicated soley to it, things should make more sense. I actually need to go out and buy more green tea today that is how well it’s doing.
The homework/procrastination ones are kind of iffy. I am succeeding in doing homework daily which means I’m not procrastinating but I feel I’m not doing the right homework. I count Quidditch paperwork and such to be homework but by doing that I am kind of procrastinating on my real homework.
This weekend I’ll finally have the chance to sit down and write about each goal individually so I guess be on the look out if you’re interested.
On my way home from school yesterday, I was thinking about the fact that VEDA/BEDA is coming up and then wondered why there was nothing fun for February, the shortest of the months. Doing something everyday would not be hard. I also was thinking over the fact that it takes 21 days to make or break a habit.
Things started connecting and now I’m trying to start Make It or Break It February as a thing.
Habits To Try Breaking:
– Biting my nails
Habits To Try Making:
– Drink green tea every day
– Work out 3-4 days a week
– Daily homework
I have until the 8th to add anything to either list or really break down them. Through out this week, I’m going to try posting about each goal, what it means to me, or why it’s being done.
HAPPY MAKE IT OR BREAK IT FEBRUARY EVERYONE!
