Make It or Break It February is bound to have some goals that coincide so I figured I’d start this off with my only hand-in-hand goals. I want to break my procrastination habit and start doing a little bit of homework everyday.
I haven’t ever had a huge problem with procrastination but it is enough of something to try changing. My biggest qualm with procrastinating comes when I have a huge project coming up but no motivation to do it. I was burned once last semester from this but not this semester.
Doing a little bit of homework every day is a little bit of a stepping stone to stopping procrastination but it is also something my mother has been trying to get me to do for as long as I can remember. Doing something every day will keep me immersed in the work/knowledge so my grades will turn out better. If I don’t have homework, I can still study or do other work.
Where any problems might occur with this goal is where my lack of motivation stops me from doing daily homework and thus procrastinating on big projects.
Yesterday was the last day to add any goals to my list of habits to make or break. I could think of none so I am sticking with the five I started with. My progress with some are going really great while others will probably never fully get off the ground.
The failure of the bunch is the one where I said about no longer biting my nails. This is no longer a bad habit for me; I fear it may be a way of life. For as long as I can remember, I have been biting my nails so this won’t be easy.
The easiest it seems on the group is drinking one glass of green tea a day. It sounds like a weird habit to make but once I do my post dedicated soley to it, things should make more sense. I actually need to go out and buy more green tea today that is how well it’s doing.
The homework/procrastination ones are kind of iffy. I am succeeding in doing homework daily which means I’m not procrastinating but I feel I’m not doing the right homework. I count Quidditch paperwork and such to be homework but by doing that I am kind of procrastinating on my real homework.
This weekend I’ll finally have the chance to sit down and write about each goal individually so I guess be on the look out if you’re interested.
On my way home from school yesterday, I was thinking about the fact that VEDA/BEDA is coming up and then wondered why there was nothing fun for February, the shortest of the months. Doing something everyday would not be hard. I also was thinking over the fact that it takes 21 days to make or break a habit.
Things started connecting and now I’m trying to start Make It or Break It February as a thing.
Habits To Try Breaking:
– Biting my nails
Habits To Try Making:
– Drink green tea every day
– Work out 3-4 days a week
– Daily homework
I have until the 8th to add anything to either list or really break down them. Through out this week, I’m going to try posting about each goal, what it means to me, or why it’s being done.
HAPPY MAKE IT OR BREAK IT FEBRUARY EVERYONE!
Hello all. Sorry I have not bee updating at all. I have a bunch of stuff from the summer coming up but to get back in the swing of things, I’m doing to do a Zombie Apocalypse Playlist. I found this online. It’s just a shuffle survey (which I love, by the way). For those of you that don’t know what a shuffle survey is, you place your media device on shuffle and answer each point with whatever song shows up.
For anyone else that wants to do this, the list is:
- First song is the overall theme of the apocalypse.
- Second song is what plays when you kill your first zombie.
- Third song plays when you’re getting chased by a horde.
- Forth song plays when you have to kill your loved ones.
- Fifth song plays when you find a group of survivors.
- Sixth song plays when you meet a new love interest.
- Seventh song plays when you have to make a final stand.
- Eighth song plays when you think you’ve survived it all.
- Ninth song plays when you discover a bite mark on you.
- And finally, the tenth song is what plays over the credits.
I just want to be clear. I did not make this. I found it online. Let’s go with my answers because I sense a zombie apocalypse coming on.
My Zombie Apocalypse Playlist.
- Big Hype (feat. D.A. & Driis) – Patrick Stump
- I Slept With Someone In Fall Out Boy and All I Got Was This Stupid Song (Piano Tribute) – Piano Rocks
- New In Town – Little Boots
- Everything We Had – The Academy Is…
- Risky Business – The Cab
- Hands Down – Dashboard Confessional
- Mixtape – Butch Walker
- Big Girl (You Are Beautiful) – Mika
- Sami – Darren Criss
- Hang ‘Em High – My Chemical Romance
In my opinion that is a pretty badass playlist. Just saying. And number four fits quite perfectly. Actually, most of them fit pretty well.
I recently received a copy of The Radical Uprise’s Summer Kicker.

It is a zine of 100 activities to do this summer that do not involve the computer or electronics of any kind. They range from learning to crochet (done) and laying out in the rain to just keeping your phone off for a day (maybe even a week as it suggests).
My plan this summer is to do one activity a day (possibly two depending on the activity). I’ll try and keep my progress here. By tracking my progress, I don’t mean each thing will get its own post. That would be too ridiculous and I don’t think I’d be able to get large posts out of some of the things .
Let’s rock this bitch!
On wednesday, the 22nd, I had a doctor’s appointment in Cleveland dealing with my ears and such. My mother thought it would be a good idea to make a family outing out of it.
Zoos have never been my favorite places. I just don’t find joy in walking around in the heat only for the animals to be too hot to be standing or out. At least in all of my experiences, that has been the case. Luckily, we went earlier in the morning on an overcast day so the animals were out, about, and I was able to take some decent pictures.
After three hours at the zoo, we finally left for the doctor’s appointment. We waited about an hour to even see the physician. He told me pretty much nothing yet suggested I start taking more vitamins. We can put my pill count up to nine.
The best part of the day was finding this mug in the zoo gift shop. I didn’t buy it but it sure did bring a smile to my face.
Today was a slow Friday. There was no work and there were no plans. Everything just was at a terrible stand still and all the plans fell through.
Today I was either going to bake cupcakes or go out to lunch with a co-worker.
Instead, I napped and cleaned the house. I’ve then spent most of the evening crocheting.
Wow, this is some riveting stuff. I promise to get better.
